The Vision

Miles2Meals is a nonprofit initiative aimed at reducing local poverty and hardship. We raise funds for North Hills Community Outreach through our 100 mile relay race.

The Cause

Goals

The Miles2Meals Initiative was founded on a strong desire to help out and give back to our local community. Oftentimes, problems outside of our own communities bear more weight in the media and draw more attention, causing a lack of focus on restoring and giving back to our own region. Miles2Meals donates 100% of money raised to North Hills Community Outreach. NHCO focuses on a wide array of community outreach programs in Northern Allegheny County, most notably operating three food banks in the area which aim to address food insecurity.

Reducing local hunger and food insecurity provides countless benefits, including increased health and well being for underprivileged community members, better opportunities for those who cannot financially address their food needs, boosted productivity for malnourished members of the workforce, and education benefits for malnourished children. In short, reducing local hunger isn't just about putting food on the table; it's about building a healthier, more educated, and stronger community.

Coming together as a community and participating in an enjoyable race is an easy way to give back to our community financially while at the same time uniting and uplifting each other. Raising close to $8,000 dollars during the first annual event in 2023, the Miles2Meals Initiative looks to grow in its financial impact on the community in the coming years.

Help us out by signing up for the relay or donating today!
